Getting back to the UK was awesome, and it was good to meet a bunch of new people. A couple of corrections which I'm going to blame on my horrible Americanized accent. If it was 5 I'd probably actually be an actual American by now ;-) Regarding Node.js it probably is faster than MySQL but most importantly it's a lot faster than Apache or IIS (whichever you use). So you can have a single Node.js server which handles hundreds or thousands of requests at the same time. That's something much harder to do on other systems.
